The Basic Facts About Anger

Often and repeatedly, every person on the face of this planet is affected by anger. It is a basic human emotion.

As a basic human emotion it is meant that everybody gets mad. The reason for this is that life is filled with conflict. Somehow it appears that in many or even the majority of instances when one person wins another person must lose.

Like the other emotions, anger is also contagious and spreads rapidly but unexplained from person to person. Anger is not the only emotion that acts this way, as happiness and sadness operate in a similar way.

Anger comes with different levels of intensity. Somebody can be outraged, or they can be just a little bit angry. You will also find that from person to person, the level of each person’s anger is also different. An example of this is, lets’ say that your neighbor pinches you, your sister and your brother. Each of you is likely to respond with different levels of anger, even though everybody had received the same pinch.

I am saying that for some people, anger is felt more strongly than for other people.

However even though anger always calls for a response, the response is always under the control of the person who is angry. When you get mad, it is your choice about whether you forgive and forget, or you do not forgive and you do things to destroy the source of your anger.

So you are the one who decides how you respond to anger. It is determined by the way you think about things.

Another important consideration should come to mind when you think about anger. It is a question that you need to ask. You need to question yourself about the justification of your anger; Am I angry for just reasons, or am I being immature.

This question is not one that you can always answer alone. A curious thing about people is that we are hardly able to see our problems and being able to tell when we are wrong. And on top of that you can be perfectly just in your anger, and a smooth talking person can get you to think that you are not.

So if you get some help with managing your anger one of the things you will do is understand how to set and defend your boundaries so that you will know when your anger is good or bad.
