Goldman Analyst Switches from ManhattanGMAT to GMATPill.com Online Videos
A former ManhattanGMAT student sent me a message saying he sought to increase the size GMAT Pill established on his positive experience in just initial few days of signing up for the program. He said he was frustrated by the material in the marketplace including programs that he spent 1,000′s for but ultimately found the most value in the GMAT Pill Online Program.
GMATPill: Hey guys! Paul is here with us today. Get together in, Paul!
Paul: Hey what’s occurring, Zeke. Good to be here.
GMATPill: So you signed up with GMATPill just more than one days ago, huh?
Paul:Yea. I actually signed up a couple days ago so I’ve been a member for about 5 days.
GMATPill: Let’s begin by going over your background first so listeners can get a sense of your position.
Presently I am looking at school and would love to take my GMAT. I stumbled upon the GMATPill on Google as I was just looking at different test prep businesses. I’ve actually done Manhattan GMAT-paid about $1500-$1600 dollars for it. But after taking the class and carrying out the film footage I just felt like-I went through the books-I felt like nearly all it was no very effective. I was searching for something else so I found the GMATPill and I was very impressed.
Copied I am thinking about school and would like to take my GMAT. First I did ManhattanGMAT–paid about $1500-$1600 for it. I took the class, went through the film recordings but felt some of it wasn’t effective. So I looked approximately for something else and came across the GMAT Pill–was quite impressed, needless to say.
Paul: Really I was very frustrated by the test prep material in the marketplace. You can go out and go to a book store and buy books or you may take a test prep. And I really think that this is a very expensive investment to learn the way to take this GMAT and I figure that must be a better way. And I feel like the ways in which these test firms teach the GMAT are geared towards you using them over and over or taking private tutoring. So it’s just a massive investment and I there must be a better way and GMATPill was very effective.
GMATPill: So you feel as if they kind of got you into their basic program and they tried to upsell you on their own tutoring sessions.
Paul:It’s usually a 12 session class and you sit in the first one to. It’s an intro. You’re left with some basic concepts. You have to read the book. A lot of the terminology is very confusing. At the finish of the day you’re studying terminology, you’re learning what logical predication is and you’re discovering these fancy terms-but you realize when you’re taking the exam-none of that’s gonna be on there. You just have to know that this sentence correction looks wrong or this data sufficiency is insufficient. You don’t need to know all these fancy terms. And second, you’re paying a lot. To your point about upselling-yea, they typically leave you sort of hanging at the conclusion. These companies are incentivized for you to not fully understand the material cuz then you’ll must return and buy additional material and get more tutoring.
GMATPill:You mentioned before your experience so far with the GMAT Pill is better and you mentioned pricing. Can you enter some more detail what other places you feel it’s better in? Of these goods there’s a pricing component-it’s only a fraction of what the market- not simply Manhattan GMAT-but what the market charges. But what other aspects do you see specifically makes your experience better so far?
GMATPill: Of your money pricing is a leading benefit of the GMAT Pill, but what other aspects and elements of the GMAT Pill would you say make your experience with the program that often superior to the other guys?
GMATPill:So you feel as if the academic approach versus the thought process that I show students through these videos-the thought process is actually superior to the academic rigor that the other programs walk you through.
Paul:You see, academic rigor is a great thing–but it does not come near practical experience. So I can instruct you the way to develop a car or truck. I’ll teach you how to put on the wheels, the way to install the different components of the engine. And if you learn that at a manuscript-if I tell you to create that truck, it’s not gonna happen. But if you have a mechanic who’s carrying out each individual piece with you, standing with you, walking through ok this is why you have to do this..it sticks to hand much longer..this kind of hand holding that shows you exactly what you must do at each individual step- that’s how you learn something. It’s not through reading through a novel. I personally think you can read for years-and it’s not practical. Your company got 3 months to learn for GMAT-I would much rather have somebody on video teach you what exactly I must do than to read through a novel. I mean I think Kaplan books are like 400 pages. Manhattan has like 8 books or something like that. They are able to no way you’re gonna get through all the material. And even if you do, you’re not going to figure out half of it.
Paul:So you gotta think about it this way. Academic rigor is great. So I can instruct you how to create a car or truck. I’ll teach you how to applied the wheels, the way to install the different components of the engine. Now that you realize the way to build it by reading a book, if I tell you to actually build it–you’ll be stuck. It’s not going to happen. Used to be, if you have an auto garage mechanic actually put up with there right alongside you and indicate you what precisely piece goes where and why, then you’ll have a more practical understanding of how to put a car together. This type of hand holding that shows you precisely what you must do at each individual step- that is how you learn something. It’s not through reading through a book. I personally think you can read for years-and it’s not practical. Your company got 3 months to learn for GMAT-I would much rather have somebody on video teach you what exactly I need to do than to read through a book. I mean I think Kaplan books are like 400 pages.
