What To Do When You Get Anxious
Do you suffer from anxiety? You would experience this as a feeling of unease. All of us feel this from time to time in response to something stressful going on, but if your anxiety becomes excessive this is problematic.
Many times, anxiety disorder happens when there is an underlying mental health condition like depression already present. If a person is having a lot of anxiety that interferes with their daily life, and makes everyday routines hard, it is a problem.
You can also get some physical symptoms if you are suffering from an anxiety disorder. Possible symptoms include chest pains, palpitations, diarrhea, and shaking among others.
You need to be seen by your doctor if you have any of those symptoms, or if you feel you have anxiety. Your doctor can tell you how to treat your condition so that you don’t get worse. Here are some of the treatments that are available for anxiety:
Regular exercise. If you exercise daily, this generally will reduce your feelings of anxiety. Don’t think you have to do hard workouts either, or be an athlete, for this to work. Even a 20 minute walk or gentle jog in the morning will help, and may eventually eliminate your anxiety.
Take medication as prescribed by your physician. Your physician knows when your anxiety may be helped with some medication. Common prescriptions include antidepressants. You’ll feel less anxious and eventually you will start to recover. Always take the medications prescribed by your doctor in the correct dosage. If you experience side effects tell your doctor; do not stop taking the medication unless your doctor recommends you do so.
Deep breathing exercises will help you feel calmer. You can balance and relax your mind and body by taking deep breaths. Even better, this will increase the level of oxygen in your body and help resolve any chemical imbalances.
If you follow these instructions regularly, you can expect that your anxiety will resolve. You don’t have to live an anxious, miserable life.
